CherylZovichPhotography > An old abandoned car deep in the woods of a state forest. No roads lead in or out, making me wonder how the car got there?
CherylZovichPhotography > A freak snowstorm in October of '11 damaged many trees and resulted in another week of power loss only a month after Hurricane Irene devastated much of New England. We were lucky, we didn't get much tree damage, but we were pinned down and unable to exit our road for several days so I was only able to shoot my own property.

CherylZovichPhotography > The setting full moon. Behind me, the sun was already rising, but the moon was huge and bright enough to illuminate the early fall foliage in the trees below.
CherylZovichPhotography > Another one of my all-time favorite photos. Again, I simply got lucky being in the right place at the right time. This is a small equine business on a back road that I drive from time to time. I just happened to pass by one morning before the horses had been let down into the pasture. I like how the gate is open and inviting, and the big golden tree that sits beside a pond. This struck me as a typical New England fall scene.
CherylZovichPhotography > An early morning sunrise over the "back fairway" taken from the bridge that crosses the stream between our house and our barn.

CherylZovichPhotography > An old barn I liked. This was a challenge to shoot because it was up on top of a fairly steep hill. This was taken from the roadside.
CherylZovichPhotography > This is another scene from the small horse farm I pass by. I was drawn to the different fences ... stone in the foreground, then split rail on the back boundary. This was a beautiful New England fall morning!
CherylZovichPhotography > Probably my all time favorite photo. Very minimally touched, this picture was little more than a stroke of good luck and being at the right place at the right time. I've driven past this scene countless times over the years, but the lay of the land and the curvy, narrow road make it almost impossible to see. On this day I had been shooting elsewhere and was on my way home when I glanced at this valley and saw the perfect opportunity to shoot it. I quickly pulled over and grabbed my camera. Getting this shot was quite challenging as there was a barbed wire fence directly in front of me, a huge tree to the left and the road was right behind me. What doesn't show in this picture is the driveway on the opposite side of the fence that leads down to a house in the valley. I was trying very hard not to capture certain things in the frame, yet I had little room to maneuver and the clouds kept blocking the sun. I patiently waited for the sun to shine, then fired off a few frames before the clouds blew back in again. Overall, I wound up with about a dozen or so fantastic shots of this scene ... something I'm sure I'll never recapture the same way again.
